Suspected bandits have killed one person and abducted five others at Maraban Kajuru in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to a local source and community leader, who requested anonymity, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Saturday.
The source said the deceased victim was visiting the village for a relative’s burial when the bandits stormed the community and killed him.
Daily Trust further gathered that two other villagers were critically injured as the attackers whisked their victims away into the bush.
“It was a sad development because the victim killed was only visiting the community for his relative’s burial when the bandits attacked. Two other people were critically injured and five others were abducted,” he said.
The state government and police command have yet to issue official statements on the attack. Calls to the Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, remained unanswered, and he has yet to respond to a text message seeking clarification.
