As part of preparations for the 2025 Hajj exercise, the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has officially inaugurated a screening committee to assess accommodation and catering service providers.
The inauguration ceremony, which took place on Monday at NAHCON’s headquarters in Abuja, witnessed the presence of senior officials and staff of the commission.
In a brief statement released by the commission’s media unit, the committee’s mandate is to rigorously evaluate and select competent service providers. This initiative aims to guarantee high-quality accommodation and catering services for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
Similarly, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagarta described the early inauguration of the committee on accommodation screening and catering services for the 2025 Hajj as a pointer and a welcome development, which signals the willingness and commitment of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to serve Nigerian pilgrims with all diligence and sincerity of purpose.
He explained that during the inauguration of the committee members, which took place in the boardroom of the commission in Abuja on Monday, December 2, 2024, the chairman of the Hajj commission, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, charged them to be God-fearing and discharge their duties with a sense of patriotism in order to make Nigerian pilgrims proud and justify the confidence reposed in them.
He said members of the committee were drawn from various state pilgrims’ welfare boards as well as NAHCON’s staff, with Professor Abubakar Abubakar Yagawal as the chairman.
