The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, led by its Executive Chairman, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, attended a public hearing organized by the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The hearing was part of the process to amend the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Establishment Act of 2006.
The Senate Committee’s public hearing focused on a bill aimed at involving state governments and the Federal Capital Territory in the selection of airline agencies for Hajj operations.
This proposed amendment is intended to enhance efficiency and accountability in the Hajj operations in the country.
Malam Salihu was accompanied by Malam Baba Mohammed Rufa’i, the Administrative Secretary, and Abubakar Usman Yusuf, the Acting Director of Operations. The public hearing took place last Thursday.
