Zamfara Correctional Command Warns Cadets Against Drug Trafficking into facility

The Controller of Corrections for Zamfara State Command, Dr. Umar Galadima has cautioned ASC Basic Course cadets against trafficking illicit items into Custodial Centers, emphasizing the dangers posed to both staff and inmates.

Dr. Galadima issued the warning during his address to the 31st ASC Basic Course cadets and passed out CCA course participants from the Correctional Staff College Barnawa, Kaduna, and the Correctional Training School Kaduna, at the state headquarters office in Gusau.

Mustapha Abubakar, ASC1 Correctional Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for Zamfara State Command, disclosed in a statement sent to Ruralpost that the Controller also urged the cadets on attachment to remain vigilant and learn practical skills in both Custodial and Non-Custodial Centers, as they represent future leaders.

He further encouraged them to apply their learnings from various correctional institutions and custodial centers to enhance the image of the service wherever they serve.

The Controller stressed the importance of dedication, discipline, and commitment to assigned duties, underlining that absenteeism and tardiness would not be tolerated, in accordance with directives from the Controller General, Haliru Nababa FICMC, MFR, MNI.

Eleven ASC Basic Course cadets have been deployed to the Command for a two-week attachment program, while thirty-four CCA Conversion Course participants graduated from the Kaduna Correctional Training School under Zamfara State Command.
