The Kaduna State Police Command intercepted Alkali Danladi, aged 45, from Ungwan Hayatu Village, Yarkasuwa, Lere LGA, at Tsurutawa Village along the Kaduna-Jos Highway.
Danladi was suspected of illegally supplying firearms to bandits, according to a statement by ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command Public Relations Officer issued on Monday.
According to him, the arrest occurred on April 4th, 2024, at around 0600hrs, as Danladi was returning from Jos, Plateau State.
He explained further that during the interception, officers discovered several prohibited firearms hidden by Danladi, including a fabricated AK-47 rifle, five fabricated revolver rifles, and two fabricated pistols.
He said they also found working tools such as fliers, screwdrivers, spanners, and charms in his possession.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Gayya Koddi, aged 40, from Bundu Dingi Village. However, two suspects remain at large.
The State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Ali Audu Dabigi, assures the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining culprits.
