The foundation aims to support students in focusing on their education without financial challenges.

Sama’ila Aliyu Makarfi, the Secretary of the foundation, made this announcement following a courtesy visit by the foundation’s leadership, chaired by Mahmud Bako Gazara, to stakeholders of Makarfi Local Government origin in the state, including former state governor Ahmed Makarfi.

He disclosed that the benefiting students were from Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic and Kaduna University, emphasizing the foundation’s efforts to secure a JAMB registration center for Makarfi LGA due to its absence in the town, forcing students to travel to Zaria for exams.

“We have supported approximately 300 youths within Makarfi LGA, covering their tuition fees to facilitate their education. Most of these beneficiaries are students of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic and Kaduna University,” he said.

Similarly, Mahmud Bako Gazara, Chairman of the foundation, addressing journalists, expressed the foundation’s commitment to combating school dropout rates in the LGA.

“We aim to tackle school dropout rates among our youth, both male and female, in the LGA. Our goal is to support the educational development of Makarfi LGA,” he stated.

In response, Shehu Umar  Ajilo, the member representing Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency, reiterated Makarfi’s commendable educational background and pledged to collaborate with the foundation to provide necessary support for educational development in the LGA.

Ajilo emphasized that as a lawmaker, such initiatives could assist him in realizing his plans to ensure youth education in the LGA, noting that this was his third meeting with high-powered stakeholders since assuming office to discuss educational development in his constituency.

Other stakeholders visited to solicit support, including former Governor Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, former Deputy Comptroller General of Customs Alhaji Garba Bala Makarfi, and Alhaji Auwalu Mohammed Makarfi, who pledged to help METEF achieve its goals.

The stakeholder visit aimed to raise awareness about METEF’s impactful activities and seek collaboration to ensure quality education is accessible to every Makarfi indigene, regardless of their socioeconomic background.

Established for a decade, METEF is actively seeking support from relevant stakeholders to fully realize its noble objectives.
