In the community of Hayin Kinini, situated under Kakangi village in the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, a family comprising a man, his wife, and two children has been kidnapped by suspected bandits.
The incident unfolded during the early hours of Tuesday when the bandits infiltrated a residence located on the outskirts of the village. Ishaq Kasai, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU), revealed that the bandits tactfully entered the victim’s house to avoid drawing attention.
“They seized the man, his wife, and two children that night without alerting other residents. The victim’s mother discovered the situation when she went to the house, as he resided on the outskirts of the town,” he explained.
Expressing concern, Kasai noted that abductions for ransom have become increasingly prevalent in various communities within the LGA. He appealed for government intervention to address the growing issue.
As of now, there has been no official response from the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, who remains unreachable by phone and has yet to respond to his text messages.
