Corruption  remains a global threat ..EFCC chief

 
During the 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day rally in Kaduna, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), emphasized that corruption poses a global threat to both individual and national growth and development.

Represented by Aisha Abubakar, the Kaduna Zonal Commander, the EFCC Chairman highlighted the universal nature of corruption, stating that no one is immune to its impact.

 The rally’s theme, “Anti-Corruption Day is UNCAC @ 20: Uniting the World against Corruption,” underscored the need for collective action.

The EFCC Chairman affirmed the commission’s dedication to implementing the corruption prevention measures outlined by UNCAC.

 Emphasizing a focus on collaboration, professionalism, and strict adherence to the rule of law, he outlined key areas of priority, including strengthening ties with law enforcement agencies, upholding professionalism, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

He stressed that only through professionalism and adherence to the rule of law can the EFCC contribute to economic growth by restoring investor confidence. Additionally, he highlighted the commission’s commitment to creating conducive environments for job creation, expanding investment opportunities nationwide, and enhancing its international reputation.

The EFCC Chairman concluded by reiterating the commission’s ongoing role in the fight against corruption, expressing optimism about achieving a corruption-free world through collaborative efforts.
