Bandits have murdered seven person in Tangaza local government area of Sokoto state.
Among the victims was a mother and her newborn baby who were burnt alive, an hour after the delivery.
According to eye witness accounts, the slain mother was being rushed to the hospital as she lost a lot of blood after delivering twin daughters.
The vehicle, conveying them came under bandits’attack along Ruwa wuri in Tangaza local government.
The bandits opened fire on them, killing the driver.
The vehicle them hit a tree and bursted into fire.
The mother, the daughter and the driver were roasted alive inside the vehicle, our source said.
Other passengers including the other twin sister escaped with injuries and are receiving treatment.
They also attacked three other communities in the area, killing four others and abducted many.
The spokesman of Sokoto Police Command, ASP Ahmad Rufa’i declined comment on the issue as he was not briefed by the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area.
