Sokoto State government has donated N13.6 million and assorted grains to the victims of recent bandit attacks. Bandits attacked four communities in the Goronyo local government area of the state over the weekend, resulting in approximately 10 casualties.

During a condolence visit on Sunday, Governor Ahmed Aliyu stated that his government is committed to ending banditry in the state and will not rest. The Governor donated N500,000 and grains to each bereaved family, N200,000 plus grains to the six individuals injured during the attacks, and the same to each of the 25 people recently freed by the bandits in the communities.

Governor Aliyu emphasized that this gesture is aimed at alleviating their suffering, acknowledging that no amount of money can truly compensate for their losses.
