The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect linked to the abduction of five female students from Dutsinma University in Katsina State.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed this to BBC Hausa while responding to the incident. He also explained that the command has expanded its investigation to apprehend all those involved in the abduction.
Ruralpost has gathered that bandits who stormed the students’ residence located outside the campus whisked them away to an unknown destination.
The incident, which occurred around 2:00 AM on Tuesday, instilled fear in the minds of the locals.
The Katsina incident comes just a few days after bandits abducted an unspecified number of female students at Federal University Gusau in Zamfara State.
