The number of casualties in the suspected suicide bomb attack during a procession commemorating Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in Pakistan’s Balochistan province has increased to 52, according to reports from officials and the media.
The explosion, which occurred near a mosque in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday, has left many others injured, with a significant number in critical condition, as confirmed by local authorities.
Citing Abdul Rasheed, a health official in the district, Reuters news agency reported 52 fatalities and 58 injuries.
Rasheed expressed concern that the death toll might rise further due to the severity of injuries sustained by some individuals.
