Collapsed Zaria Mosque still unsafe for worship. Emir

Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, stated that the ancient Zaria mosque, which collapsed a week ago, remains unsafe for worship.

He mentioned that the mosque has been cordoned off while awaiting reports from experts who inspected the site. Notably, certain parts of the mosque still exhibit signs of cracks, rendering it unsafe for prayers.

During a meeting with a delegation of House of Representatives members led by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen at his palace, the Emir conveyed that the mosque, constructed around 200 years ago, will undergo reconstruction before being reopened for worship.

He extended gratitude to the Speaker for visiting the emirate in the wake of the tragic incident that claimed lives.

The Emir also offered prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives in the collapse, expressing hope that they find eternal peace in paradise.
