Suspected bandits attacked the Kofar Gayan area in Zaria on Saturday night, resulting in the tragic deaths of two innocent residents.
The bandits entered the area and began firing shots indiscriminately, with the intent to abduct several other residents.
Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives representing Zaria Federal Constituency, expressed strong condemnation of these killings.
He urged for a thorough investigation into the attack and the killings in order to uncover the culprits responsible for this heinous act.
In a press statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker emphasized the importance of safeguarding the lives of Nigerians, regardless of their location.
He urged security agencies to enhance their efforts in protecting citizens and their property.
The Speaker described the recent killings as deeply unfortunate, particularly considering that they occurred shortly after the tragic collapse of parts of the Zaria Central Mosque, which claimed several lives.
He characterized the actions of the bandits as barbaric and abhorrent, undermining the peace that the people of Zaria have enjoyed for years.
He expressed his strong condemnation of the attackers and called upon security agencies to take swift action to apprehend those responsible. He stressed that such evil acts should not go unpunished.
The Speaker extended his condolences to the families of the victims, praying for the souls of the departed to find peace and for their families to find the strength to cope with their loss.
Speaker Abbas conveyed his sympathies to the Kaduna State Government, the Emir of Zazzau, Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, and the entire Zaria community for the unfortunate incident.
