Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has decided to withdraw his interest in joining President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.
Reliable sources told Premium Times an online news platform that El-Rufai conveyed his decision during a meeting with President Tinubu.
The former governor expressed that he would now contribute to Nigeria’s progress as a private citizen.
He mentioned his intention to concentrate on his doctorate program in a Dutch university.
El-Rufai also proposed Jafaru Ibrahim Sani as a potential ministerial candidate for Kaduna State, citing Sani’s extensive experience as a commissioner across various ministries during El-Rufai’s governorship.
Ruralpost recalled that the Senate a few days ago failed to confirm the former governor as a Minister nominee because he was not cleared by the security agencies working on the petitions against his nomination.
