Bandits use damaged bridge to abduct, attack villagers in Kaduna

Bandits are exploiting a weakened bridge caused by erosion in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State to carry out abductions and attacks on innocent villagers.

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Auwal Umar Bijimi, representing Giwa West Constituency, raised concerns about this alarming situation during a session.

He revealed that the bandits have set up roadblocks at the compromised bridge to aid their criminal activities, leading to the displacement of residents from affected communities who are now seeking shelter wherever possible.

Auwal urgently presented this issue as a matter of immediate public importance, stressing the need for the State government to address security challenges in Giwa Local Government area promptly.

He highlighted that the majority of inhabitants in these communities are farmers, and with the ongoing rainy season, their involvement in agricultural activities is vital.

Auwal emphasized the necessity for swift intervention by the State government to provide temporary shelters, relief materials, and food supplies to support the affected citizens.

He also stressed the importance of reconstructing the damaged bridge to restore connectivity and normal life for the residents.

The dire situation demands immediate attention and collaborative efforts to ensure the safety, well-being, and economic stability of the affected communities and the entire state.
