Plane crash kills five in Poland

Officials have reported that a tragic incident occurred at an airfield near Warsaw, the capital of Poland, where a small aircraft crashed into a hangar, resulting in the loss of five lives, including the pilot. 

The crash also left eight individuals injured, while it was reported that thirteen people sought refuge from inclement weather inside the hangar.

According to the fire brigade, unfavorable weather conditions were likely a contributing factor to the accident.

 In response to the incident, four helicopters and ten ambulances were swiftly dispatched to the scene in the village of Chrcynno, situated approximately 47km (29 miles) away from Warsaw.

Local media sources have identified the aircraft involved in the crash as a Cessna 208. 

The village’s fire department, confirming the occurrence, shared an image on Facebook depicting the tail of the plane protruding from the hangar.

Authorities were notified of the incident shortly after 17:30 GMT, as reported by the AFP news agency.

 An investigation is set to be launched by the police to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Rescue teams have stated that the aircraft was carrying three individuals at the time of the collision with the corrugated iron hangar, as mentioned by AFP.
