On July 11, 2023, the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) made a significant breakthrough by arresting a total of 12 suspected internet fraudsters.

Among the detainees were Maxwell Nwanno and Kingsley Nwanno, who happen to be siblings. The arrests took place in various residential areas of Abuja, including Gwarimpa, Katampe, and Karu, following credible intelligence that implicated them in illicit online activities.

The remaining individuals apprehended during the operation were identified as Owoh Chinedu, Ricaldo Francis, Thomas Pante, Chika Okoh, Okusun Destiny, Richard Anthony, Jonathan Victor, Ekulonor Emmanuel, Thompson Amieghemen, and Kingsley Henry.

Upon searching the suspects and their premises, law enforcement officials discovered a substantial amount of evidence, which included over 20 mobile phones from various brands, nine laptops, three luxury Mercedes Benz cars, a Toyota Avalon, and a Lexus 330.

The EFCC is currently conducting thorough investigations, and once the process is complete, the suspects will be presented before a court of law to face appropriate charges.
