More than a month after his inauguration, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State is yet to appoint commissioners for his administration, raising concerns among party members and loyalists.
Since taking office on May 29, only a few appointments have been made, such as the Secretary to the Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Senior Special Assistants, and Advisers.
A member of the governor’s campaign team expressed eagerness for the announcement of the commissioners. However, they expressed the hope that individuals who previously held the same positions would not be reappointed.
Another party member, who preferred to remain anonymous, stressed the importance of Governor Uba Sani promptly revealing the names of other cabinet members. They noted that other states have already made significant progress in forming their cabinets.
Several party members felt marginalized after their support during the party’s victory.
Dahiru Ahmed, Governor Uba Sani’s Senior Special Assistant on Electronic Media, appeared on the Liberty Radio program to address concerns and urge for calm. He assured the public that the governor is diligently working to appoint individuals of integrity and patriotism who will contribute to the state’s development.
Dahiru also advised residents to continue praying for the governor’s success as he focuses on selecting credible individuals to serve in his cabinet.
